Safaricom SACCO Ltd was feted amongst the best  SACCO’s in the country during the International Cooperatives Day also known as Ushirika Day which was held on Saturday -1st July 2023. 

The event was graced by H.E the President William Samoei Ruto,  Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, PS Cooperatives Samuel Chelagui amongst many other Co-operators & Apex Bodies.

Ushirika Day is held annually and brings together over 10,000 SACCO’s in the country to showcase what the Sacco’s offer as well as network and learn from each other.


The Awards were as follows:

Position 1- Technology optimization Countrywide
Position 1- Technology optimization Deposit Taking SACCOs Tier 1
Position 1 – Most improved Deposit Taking SACCOs Employer based SACCOs Tier 1
Position 1- Best in Deposit Management Deposit Taking SACCOs Employer based SACCOs Tier 1
Position 3 – Most efficient Deposit Taking SACCOs Employer based SACCOs Tier 1
